ABOUT
Originally from Massachusetts, Sam graduated in May 2022 with his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Miami. Favorite credits include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (Christopher Boone) and Into the Woods (Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince). He is currently pursuing his MFA in International Theater Performance as an actor-writer-director, spending this first year at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Theater Institute and the next year at Rose Bruford College in London.
When not performing, Sam is using his vivid imagination and passion for storytelling to write plays, screenplays, songs and poems. He is a member of Delta Kappa Alpha, the national professional cinematic arts fraternity, and spends much of his spare time watching, studying and relishing in the magic of movies and the culture of cinema. You can also find him playing the guitar or listening to vintage vinyls, with Bob Dylan or The Beatles most often on his record player. Sam loves bringing stories to life and sharing them with people. He believes that creating art in any form is one of the most human pursuits because it connects us with one another and allows us to learn more about humanity. Sam is thrilled to be making his life as an artist.

WRITING
Sam’s one-act play, Wreckage, was written under the mentorship of Pulitzer Prize-winner Nilo Cruz. In 2020, Wreckage was given a staged reading in the Hecht Studio Theatre.
Wreckage follows three college boys who witness a fatal accident on a mountain in New Hampshire and face a moral dilemma when one of them photographs the body to be shown as art. It is a thought-provoking play that tests the limits of friendships and loyalties and explores how far we’ll push the boundaries of art.
The Sibling Plays pairs two of Sam's 10-minute scripts exploring how estrangement affects the relationships between two brothers (Battery Mates) and a pair of sisters (Buried). These were workshopped with the Theatre Action Group at UMiami in 2021.
Sam adapted Buried as a short screenplay, which he directed, filmed, and edited later that same year.
Buried was also given a staged reading during the National Theater Institute's Playwrights & Librettists Week at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in November 2022.
Sam was selected for the Kennedy Center 2021 Summer Playwriting Intensive, under the direction of Gary Garrison with guest artists including Mark Bly, Jacqueline Goldfinger, and Jacqueline E. Lawton.
