WRITING
ALONE IN the attic

In October 2024, Sam launched the first season of his horror fiction anthology podcast, Alone in the Attic. Each of the five episodes is an immersive audio story influenced by events and pop culture of different decades. Sam took inspiration from 1930s and ‘40s radio dramas and his love of classic horror, from Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King to The Twilight Zone. He wrote, directed, sound-designed, and edited the series, featuring actors on both sides of the Atlantic. Sam plans to release a second season of Alone in the Attic in October 2025.

Songs from the Sea

In summer 2024, Sam released his 6-track debut EP, Songs from the Sea, written from the shoreline in Ocean Point, Maine, where he has spent part of every summer. Captivated by the majesty and mystery of the ocean, Sam was inspired to capture its essence and explore it as a metaphor for the emotions and experiences he was navigating at that time. Taking influence from some of his favorite musical artists, such as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and James Taylor, he picked up his guitar and crafted a lyrically driven collection of acoustic songs about life’s ebb and flow. Sam collaborated with Ryan Carter Martin, who produced and mixed the EP, helping to shape the sound and bring Sam's vision for the project to life.
Clips from four of the tracks are shared here.

Wreckage

Sam’s one-act play, Wreckage, was written under the mentorship of Pulitzer Prize-winner Nilo Cruz. In 2020, Wreckage was given a staged reading at Miami's Hecht Studio Theatre. Sam has continued to develop this story, expanding it into a full-length play, which he presented as a staged reading in London at Rose Bruford Symposium 2024.
Wreckage follows three college boys who witness a fatal accident on a mountain in New Hampshire and face a moral dilemma when one of them photographs the body to be shown as art. It is a thought-provoking play that tests the limits of friendships and loyalties, and explores how far we’ll push the boundaries of art.
The sibling plays

The Sibling Plays pairs two of Sam's 10-minute scripts, exploring how estrangement affects the relationships between two brothers (Battery Mates) and a pair of sisters (Buried). These were workshopped with the Theatre Action Group at UMiami in 2021.
Sam adapted Buried as a short screenplay, which he directed, filmed, and edited later that same year. Buried was also given a staged reading during the National Theater Institute's Playwrights & Librettists Week at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in November 2022.
Sam wrote and staged a third sibling play, Going, during Playwrights & Librettists Week at The O'Neill the following year. Going follows an adventurous young boy and his spirited younger sister as they play a childish game and learn an adult lesson about what it means to lose.
